Commercially produced models of airships are very rare and more than a few modelers have become fed up with this problem. The solution is to put in countless hours of research and construction time in order to make your own model. This is very hard work and takes a lot of time to do. Here are some examples of Zeppelins that have been built from scratch for personal or private collections.

1/32 scale models of the Hanger bays of the Akron and Macon
1/32 scale model of the Hindenburg's "A" and "B" decks
Model of the Akron Air Dock in Ohio

All by Ed Gailliot

Mr. Gailliot ha created some truly wonderful models that deserve a close look. I regret that it's taken me an astonishing amount of time to get these up. My most sincere apologies Ed! This has taken me far too long to get to, but at long last, here they are. It was tough to decide which photos to include. They are all great but here's what I think are the best.

1:200 scale LZ-129 Hindenburg built by Richard Burroughs

A new scratch built model of the Hindenburg underway in New Zealand.

1:200 scale Zeppelin L-31 built by Chris Fenger

Finished pictures of the Zeppelin L-31 model scratch built by the very talented Chris Fenger.

1:100 scale Graf Zeppelin built by Robert Gilmore

Wonderful work being undertaken by an excellent builder. Lots of construction photos with notes.

Note: Mr. Gilmore has returned! It seems that he moved and that the Graf project was put on hold. Now that he's back, I've relieved some new photos. Come in and see!
